Stacey’s Weight Loss Story- – 30lbs gone, so far!
When I began the Countdown Program none of my clothes fit me and I had no energy. The first week of the program was very challenging for me. I was hungry and had a dull headache. Once the hunger and headache subsided I felt very satisfied. The combination of the short course of medication, protein, low carbs and no sugar left me feeling full, satisfied and energetic. I was very surprised that I was full considering the smaller portion sizes on the program.
In addition to my eating changes on this program I also continued to exercise 3-4 times a week so that as I lost weight I would firm up. When I began my first round on the program I weighed 200 lbs. and after 28 days I weigh 180 lbs. I am very much a pear shape and went from a size large shirt down to a size medium and a size 18 pants down to a size 14. I wanted to do another round on the program and was told I needed to give my body a 2 week break and up my calories to 1,000 a day versus the 500 a day I had been used to. I was extremely nervous that during those 2 weeks I would go back to eating a high carb low protein diet and over eat too many calories causing me to gain weight!
I was shocked that during those 2 weeks off the program my body had gotten used to the portions and types of food I was eating and I found it very difficult to eat 1,000 a day. Most days I was close to eating 800-900 calories. At the end of the 2 week break my weight had stayed exactly the same!! I am just past the middle of my 2nd round and down another 10lbs of FAT. I am still working out at least 4 days a week. I definitely feel better and am more energized. This was a great starter for weight loss and putting me on the path to good health and making smarter eating choices and making exercise a priority. Setting a good example for my 2 daughters was a major driving force for me. So glad I took this step.
